Timișoara - Capitală Europeană a Culturii

Câteva fragmente din intervenția mea din întâlnirea online cu doamna Barbara Gessler, Head of Unit în cadrul Comisiei Europene, alături de primarul Timișoarei, dl. Dominic Fritz, președintele Consiliului Județean Timis, dl. Alin Nica și directorul Asociației Timișoara Capitală Culturală Europeană, d-na Simona Neumann legat de proiectul național: TM 2023 - Capitală Europeană a Culturii:

    

I am extremely proud and honoured to be part of the programme Timișoara – the European Capital of Culture 2023.

Each and every project has its ups and downs, but we are strongly committed to work together for the success of 

the ECoC action in Romania, by bringing a new vision of culture as a driving force, that can inspire and 

mobilize the citizens towards a more sustainable European Union.

·                   We all know that the European Capital of Culture is a chance that we only have every 15 or 16 years. All the artists 

        and cultural professionals in Romania have been waiting for this title since 2007. We cannot fail. 

             We cannot disappoint them. We cannot let them down, especially since the sanitary crisis brought some changes 

        in the calendar of the action and the 2-year delay is supposed to work in our advantage. 

Last but not least, I would like consolidate the partnership with the local authorities through a regular and fruitful dialogue that enabled us to identify together pragmatic solutions to the common challenges that we are facing.
